FAQ
What is integrative health?
Integrative or preventive wellness is a proactive approach to health that focuses on combining holistic practices and preventive measures to optimize physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It emphasizes lifestyle factors like nutrition, exercise, stress management, and emotional balance to prevent illness and promote overall vitality. This approach integrates various modalities, including traditional and complementary therapies, to empower individuals in taking control of their health and fostering long-term wellness.
Should I Invest in Therapy?
It’s a pivotal question, one that speaks to the heart of personal growth and holistic well-being. While the cost of mental health services may give pause, consider the immeasurable cost of leaving your struggles unaddressed. Think about the dreams deferred, the opportunities missed, and the potential left untapped because of unresolved issues. What could you achieve if you reclaimed that energy and focus? Reflect on the toll your struggles have taken on your sleep, your relationships, and your overall quality of life. How many moments of joy, connection, and fulfillment have been overshadowed by pain and uncertainty? Investing in therapy isn’t just an expense; it’s an investment in yourself, your future, and the life you deserve to live to its fullest potential. By integrating therapy with holistic wellness practices—such as healthy weight management, improved diet, and enhanced focus—you can not only avoid illness but also reduce the severity of existing conditions while nurturing your overall well-being.
Do you accept insurance?
We presently are considered “out of network” for all insurance carriers and provide a Superbill to assist with reimbursement from your insurance carrier. We are contracted with some EAPs (Employee Assistance Programs) and offer limited sliding scale options.
Most insurance plans reimburse the cost of out of network services 40-80%.
We accept healthcare savings plans as well as some therapy vouchers provided by certain mental health support organizations.
Standpoint Wellness chooses not to accept insurance or bill health insurance companies for services on your behalf for several reasons:
– Health insurance companies typically require therapists to provide a diagnosis in order to reimburse for treatment. However, not everyone seeking therapy has a mental illness; many are grappling with life stressors and normal transitions such as identity challenges, relationship concerns, or grief counseling—issues that may not be covered by insurance.
– The diagnosis provided becomes a permanent part of your health record and can impact various aspects of your future, from job opportunities requiring security clearance to adoption proceedings or firearm purchases.
– Insurance companies also have access to your therapy records upon request.
Insurance companies often authorize a predetermined number of sessions for reimbursement, which may not align with individual client needs. We believe in tailoring treatment to each client’s unique circumstances and symptoms, without arbitrary limitations imposed by insurance providers.
– Moreover, the inclusion of holistic treatments, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, or nutritional counseling, adds further complexity, as few insurance companies cover these alternative therapies. We recognize the value of holistic care in promoting overall well-being, but we also understand the limitations imposed by insurance coverage. By focusing on personalized, holistic treatment plans, we prioritize your health and wellness without the constraints of insurance mandates.
